welcome to my rune factory 4 page!!!
Rune Factory 4 is my favorite of the "cozy farming games" ive played. i played for the first time in 2023 on playstation 4 using a playstation plus subscription, and just recently (feb 2026) bought it on sale for 9.99 on nintendo switch!!
ive played this game for somewhere around 50+ hours combined, and im just beginning the second part of the story!!!
i made this page to go on and on about and give updates on my playthrough of the game, its not very popular at least anymore and its not often i stumble upon others who also still enjoy this game and i need a place to yap about it

i havent gotten to the end of the story or unlocked everything just yet, so this page is bound to be missing lore and information. it will still contain some spoilers, tho.
Overview
in rune factory 4, you play as a prince or princess who loses their memory due to being hit in the head by theives and falling out of the sky from a flying ship. you fall into a castle and are greeted by a wind dragon called Ventuswill, or Venti for short!! Venti reminds you that you are a princess, but you cant remember anything else about your life except for your name.
fun fact: although you get to choose the name of your character, the princesss' canon name is Frey, and the prince's name is Lest!!!
Venti welcomes you into Selhpia, where you meet all sorts of interesting folks. my personal favorites are Dolce and Pico, pictured above, and Dylas, my current in-game partner, who all are introduced later in the game!!
upon hearing about strange dungeons and noises coming from outside the town, you are to go and investigate these occurances. you discover that humans are being turned into monsters, who are then released once their monster forms are defeated and move into town.
it includes all of the features that are sort of a given with this type of game, like farming and combat and friendship. even romance and cooking!!
there all sorts of skills to learn and level up. seriously, theres a skill for pretty much anything. you can even level up your walking and sleeping skill!! the more you raise certain skills, some characters will give yout special dialogue!!
one thing that sucks, at least about the romance system, is that you cannot be homosexual (╥﹏╥) i wanted to date Clorica, the sleepy butler with purple hair in my first playthrough, but there was no heart next to her name....
something else that i dislike about the romance system is that some of the dateable characters in this game are quite young looking. Amber, Xiao Pai, and Kiel, all look like children to me, but that could just be my opinion.

dolce's favorite gifts are medicine and baked sweets, particularly both types of Flan, all types of cake, and apple pie. she at first denies her love for sweets and tries to tell you that she doesnt like them, tho Pico debunks her claims immediately. she also really likes hot drinks
if there were an option for same sex dating in this game, dolce would be my first choice <3
he is the only character that ive dated in any of my playthroughs and also my favorite character period. hes at first shy and dismissive and wonders why the hell you even want to talk to him, but as he warms up to you he starts to tell you his thoughts and how he feels about certain characters and hobbies and events, he really really likes fishing!!! he seems a bit rude at first but hes actually a sweetheart but not the best option if you actually want your partner to say "i love you" back....hes absolutely lovely otherwise!!
he likes all types of fish and sashimi, but his favorites are lover shashimi, tuna sashimi, sunsquid sashimi, and glitter sashimi. he also loves glitter snappers, sunsquids, throbby snappers, and tuna fish by themselves!! milk porridge is another of his favorites, and only needs 2 ingredients that are very easy to get
